Miso Soup

So yesterday Jack and I had a very interesting conversation while I was driving. it started with bridges and ended with calling Jesus to ask him to make us Miso Soup. It went something like this:

Jack: Are we going over a bridge Mom?

Me: Yes.

J: On top of the fishees?

M: Yep!

J: Do you like fishes?

M: I like to eat them.

J: Daddy does too. I don't like eating fishes.

M: You've eaten them before. You've even eaten Sushi with raw fish.

J: Sushi soup?

M: That's Miso Soup you like. We get it at the Sushi restaurant.

J: What's in it?

M: Tofu, Miso, Seaweed, some other stuff. I'm not exactly sure how to make it.

J: Maybe Santa knows.

M: Santa doesn't know everything. God knows everything, though.

J: Does she know how to make Miso Soup?

M: (laughing) I think so.

J: Does Jesus know how to make Miso Soup? Can we call him?

And I went on to talk about prayer and such. It is quite a challenging to explain theology to him these days.

Another very funny thing he said the other day . . .

I was trying to talk to him (OK-- probably lecturing), and he wanted to me to stop. He finally said, with much frustration, "Mom, shush out!" (Of course, meaning to say "Shush Up!") :)

One more funny. We were reading a book called "The Things Birds Eat". The first picture was a bird eating a worm. Jack's comment was, "that's disturbing."
