I plan and lead worship at my church on Sunday mornings. One of my new weekly goals is to do a song study, usually on a song we'll be singing that week. This week I chose "Your Name" by Paul Baloche. We actually haven't sang this yet, but I'll probably introduce it soon.

Your Name - Paul Baloche

“glorify Your name”

Psalm 86:12 - I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.

"strong tower”

Psalm 61:3-4 - For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

“strong and mighty”

Psalm 24:8 - Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

“shelter”

Psalm 91:1-2 - He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Isaiah 25:4 - You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall

“nations sing”

Psalm 67 - May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you

“power to save”

Psalm 20:6 - Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.

Psalm 106:8 - Yet he saved them for his name's sake, to make his mighty power known.

1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

“Your name”

Used many times in the following contexts: confess, make a dwelling for, praise, is good, fear, glorify, power of, doing works in, declare

Exodus 20:7 - "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.”

Deuteronomy 28:58 - . . . revere this glorious and awesome name—the LORD your God.

1 Kings 8:43 - . . . that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you.

Psalm 9:2 - I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

Psalm 135:13 - Your name, O LORD, endures forever

Jeremiah 10:6 - No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.
